Use of Google reCAPTCHA
We use the service “reCAPTCHA” provided by Google Ireland Limited, Ireland, (“Google”) to protect our website from automated access (e.g. bots) and misuse.
reCAPTCHA enables us to distinguish whether an input is made by a natural person or abusively through automated processing. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyses various information and transmits it to Google to analyze whether interactions on the website are carried out by a human user or by automated systems. When reCAPTCHA is loaded, the following categories of data may be processed, including independently of any user input:
· Device and browser information (e.g., IP address, user‑agent, system configuration)
· Website interaction data (e.g., cursor movements, clicks, scroll behavior)
· Technical and behavioral signals used to distinguish human activity from bots
· Cookies or similar identifiers (e.g. identifiers stored in cookies or local storage)
To the extent that the use of reCAPTCHA is strictly necessary to ensure the security and integrity of our website (e.g. protection against automated attacks, spam or abuse), processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest lies in securing our website and services.
Where reCAPTCHA involves the storage of information on your device or access to information already stored (in particular through cookies or similar technologies) that is not strictly necessary for security purposes, such processing is carried out only with your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. In such cases, reCAPTCHA is only activated after you have given your consent via our consent management tool.
You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect.
Google processes the data on our behalf as a processor in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. A data processing agreement has been concluded with Google. The information collected as part of reCAPTCHA is processed within the European Economic Area (EEA). Where a transfer to third countries cannot be excluded, appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 44 et seq. GDPR are ensured, in particular through the use of Standard Contractual Clauses.
Where processing is based on our legitimate interests, you have the right to object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. Please note that, in this case, certain functions of the website may no longer be available.
